about

The Sailor & The Siren, is the second effort from artists Jeremy & Lynne. This time out the duo has assembled around them "The Typical Johnsons" a band that adds an almost incalculable amount of depth and personality to the music. The EP itself features three fresh, full band takes, on songs from their debut album, 2015's "Drawing Blood". Revisiting these songs showed the true feeling of the songs, and delivers a very distinct and different experience. For instance "Good Ones", is reminiscent of the old garage punk of the 1970's,
"How I Died Today" is a completely different and infectious song weaving a whole new feel into one of Drawing Blood's most promising songs. Finally "Inside My Head" which garnered an Ohio Music Award in 2015 for "Best Folk Song" has been completely de-constructed and remade into something completely new...
Since the release of Drawing Blood, Jeremy & Lynne stepped into new material such as "The Lo-FI Type" which is a rocker straight out of the gate, and Ohio Gone, which harkens back to the duos roots in small town USA. Both songs feature the band pulling at the sonic heart strings to ensure the full impact of each song comes through. Finally as the title track, "The Sailor & The Siren" is the groups defining opus this time out, wrenching every piece of emotion you can get from the new musical setup. Blistering leads, tight drumming and fluid bass lines lead back to the chemistry Jeremy & Lynne first let us see on Drawing Blood.
As a tie-back to the past and a stones throw into the future, "The Sailor & The Siren" pushes boundaries and evokes sincere introspection into what we both need music to be and the feelings it invokes. Featuring two bonus tracks, The "Lo Fidelity Lo-Fi Mix" and the "SOS Inside My Head re-mix" fans of the duo and future fans of both the duo and the Typical Johnsons will be taken on an expanding ride through the entire artistic experience.

The Typical Johnsons Ohio

Long - time friends Jeremy and Lynne began practicing and writing music in 2012 and at the time, neither of them had been playing for more than a year. Knowing only that the lyrics that they were writing could be drawn directly from their lives, they learned on the go preferring to gain experince by playing live shows. Described by listeners as a Folk/ Americana / Roots Rock hybrid. ... more
